Payroll Payroll Manager non-exempt

Summary

This position assures employee time and pay are accurate by following company processes, procedures and complying with all labor laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions – PET Tiger
  • Prepares reports – PET tiger and Farmers.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information – PET Tiger.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepares any deductions need to be made to employee (Franchise, Child Support, Court Order etc.)
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Set up new employees.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2)
  • Print checks
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma required.

2+ years’ experience as a Payroll Specialist

Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing documents

Ability to create organized filing system.

Overachieving attitude and enhanced work ethic

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDF Editing Software, and electronic timekeeping software and payroll software.

Other Qualifications:  Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
