HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
Santa Maria: We are back on track this week with normal weather patterns here along the coastal region near Santa Maria. We have been focused on cleaning up the fields all week and working closely with our QC team to ensure best quality as we work through rain damage after last week’s unseasonal rain. The rain definitely made an impact on volume this week but we should be back on normal rotation next week with increases in numbers and excellent quality.
As forecasted, this growing region is late in peaking just like the rest of the state due to early storms with our peak hitting here just in time for the July 4th holiday demand. Below we have shared a California Strawberry Commission chart published this week, and stats showing where we are in production. We have a long way to go this summer with most of our volume ahead of us here in Santa Maria. We look forward to working with you to promote our strawberries all summer long.
We have also been engaging with shoppers promoting the summer crop and sharing new and exclusive recipes to inspire repeat purchases. We have almost 100 different ways to enjoy Bobalu berries on our site. Regarding repeat purchases, the Strawberry Commission reported that strawberries still lead the berry category with more repeat purchases than other berries within the category.
