Santa Maria: We have finally made it to June! Since Oxnard has shifted into processing, we are focused now on this region and a nice long summer season ahead. Our strawberry ranches are on the west side along the coast, so our volume will extend well into the fall and we look forward to continued beautiful fruit.
As you can see from the photo, we have the typical morning and evening marine layer keeping the soil and plants cool, helping to produce great fruit with large sizing, full color and excellent flavor. Our daily and weekly volume should peak this month and provide sustained volume for the next several weeks. We expect good supply for the upcoming holidays ahead with graduations, Father’s Day and July 4th right around the corner.
