California Update

We are happy to see such consistent volume, sizing and flavor from our fields here in Santa Maria throughout the month now leading into July.  It’s hard to believe that July 4th is just around the corner, but we are very pleased with the continued consumer demand for strawberries.

Our communication with shoppers is focused on encouraging larger pack size purchases and multiple pack purchases capitalizing on the lower pricing seen at retail.  We are providing usage ideas for freezing berries, jams, syrups and other great recipes to promote more sales of our berries as summer kicks in and prices are competitive.

We have already planted our summer crop and look forward to new fruit towards the end of August carrying our season well into the fall here in Santa Maria.  We are also prepping ground in Oxnard for our fall season that will begin after Santa Maria and add to fresh California fruit throughout the fall into Winter.  Stay tuned as we progress with these two new crops coming.

Industry Update

We look forward to seeing you at some upcoming trade shows next month in Monterey.  We will be attending the Organic Produce Summit so hope to connect with you there.  Additionally, we are exhibiting at the Foodservice Conference at the end of July and look forward to the opportunity to see you there as well.  Booth #902
