Mexico

Volume here is picking up this month after an unsettled December, battling cold and wet conditions in Central Mexico.  January is looking much better with great quality, size and flavor and promotable volume expected leading into the last two weeks of the month.  Timing is perfect to support the Valentine’s Day pull.   We received this shot of our Mexico fruit in a shopping cart this morning – looks good!  As you can see from the field shot, there is a lot of fruit and flower on these plants.

Oxnard

We are seeing clear and cool conditions here in Oxnard which is great for plant health.  What a difference from last year in early January when we dealt with with record rain and lack of volume.  We are already more than a month ahead of last year’s volume at this same time period.  Let’s hope these mild conditions stick around for a bit.  We are harvesting on a regular schedule now with light volume, but expect things to pick up by month end to help fulfill Valentine’s Day stem demand.  The fruit here looks and tastes great and we hope for continued positive weather this Winter.
