Oxnard Update

Thanks to you, we have had a very successful fresh strawberry season in Oxnard, CA this year.  We are now beginning our transition from this region to Santa Maria.  These fields will continue to produce fruit that will be diverted to our processing operation which provides us the continued opportunity to utilize our vertical integration and reduce food waste.  We should be harvesting for processing through the end of June here. .

Santa Maria Update

The fruit quality, size and flavor here is excellent, and we are looking forward to a great spring and summer crop in this region.  Our fields on the west side of town are still ramping up to peak volume that is on schedule for mid to late June.  Until that time period when we hit our sustained peak, we are estimating the volume will continue to climb each week.

Weather here is forecasted to stay in the high 60’s and low 70’s during the day with some light wind expected part of next week.  The plants are very healthy, and we are ready to work with you on the setting up promotions for the next couple of holidays.  We are seeing increased demand for larger pack sizes as consumers prepare for Memorial Day activities, especially as other fresh fruit items are late or lighter in volume for the next several weeks.

Resources from Bobalu

Last week we had the pleasure of once again opening up our ranches for customer tours.  We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and let us host you for a field tour.  We also have a library of video content that we are happy to share with your customers on Bobalu family background, insights on our sustainability efforts and what goes into getting stem packs harvested for those special occasions.
