New Crop on the Way
As October says goodbye to the SF Giants and things heat up in Southern California for the Dodgers, we are also looking ahead to our southern California strawberry season! As you can see above, we have planted in Oxnard and are excited about the coming season. The plants look great and we are very pleased with timing. Stay tuned for updates as we navigate through the next several weeks and we will provide you with some estimates on when our 2022 program will begin here.
Santa Maria Update
Our fields here are on track with daily and weekly volume estimates. Weather has remained consistent here along the coast with mild days followed by cool nights in 40’s. We do see a chance of some light rain at the end of next week but that should not have an impact on volume. We are encouraged by the plant health, bloom and quality we are seeing every day. The fruit looks great with excellent flavor.
